General Pricing Guidelines

Here’s a quick guide to help you budget for your new deck or outdoor living area. We’ll walk you through how to calculate your square footage, provide average pricing for various projects, and explain the materials and features you can choose from.

1. Measure Your Deck
Start by measuring your deck’s length and width. For example:

  • Length: 16ft (from your house to the yard)
  • Width: 32ft (across from left to right)

To calculate square footage, multiply the length by the width:

  • 16ft x 32ft = 512 square feet

2. Include Stairs
If your deck has stairs, calculate the square footage of the stairs as well:

  • If you have 5 steps, each 5 feet wide, multiply:
  • 5ft x 5 = 25 square feet for the stairs

3. Total Square Footage:

  • 512 + 25 = 537 square feet

We specialize in transforming treated lumber decks into beautiful, low-maintenance composite decks — complete with modern picture framing, custom railings, and expertly crafted picture framed staircases.

Our average price including materials and labor typically starts around $60 per square foot.

Smaller projects tend to be slightly more per square foot, while larger projects or those without railings will often cost less.

  • Removal of old deck boards, railings, and staircase
  • Rebuilding into a modern, picture-framed composite deck including new railings
  • New custom staircase, including stair framing
  • High-quality craftsmanship and finish tailored to your needs

⚠️ Final pricing may vary based on:
Deck size | Deck board selection | Fascia style | Railing type & quantity | Design complexity | Staircase width/number | Deck lighting | Deck height | Permits

If you’re starting fresh, our custom-built Trex composite decks generally start around $80 per square foot, including materials and labor. This entails demo of the existing build, design of the new structure, new footings, framing, decking, railings, and staircase.

Just like with deck transformations, smaller builds may cost slightly more per sq ft, while larger or simpler builds (e.g. no railing or permits required) may cost less.
